Elder Chandler has always loved children and they love him. In his new area of Omuta there are about (20)twenty children that are in the branch. Omuta is a very difficult area for the Missionaries. They love to be around Elder Chandler and Elder Tokuzawa. The Mission President said that the families and especially the children will see many blessings from these Missionaries. He sent many fun things for the grandkids and we loved to get another letter. Here is part of it.
"Hello Mom and Dad,
How is everyone doing? I hope you are all "Genki" Well another very fast month. By the time you get this letter 6 日's fast Sunday will prob be over. If you think of it like this its pretty fast. After next fast Sunday we will have 9 fast Sundays then you will be coming to Japan. That's fast! This transfer went by super fast. We had a lot of fun. Yeah, things are good here in Omuta other than the fact that this place will steal your soul! Everyone in this city is super depressed. Only (13)thirteen of us were at Church. Kinda sad. 我々は今日kumatmoto城に行くの。But tomorrow should be fun we will be going to the Kumamoto Castle. It is a really cool place and the history says that the movie "The Last Samurai" was filmed in that area. Cool I thought!

This dragon head, now on display in the Omuta City railroad station, will be paraded through town during the annual Daija-yama Festival in July.
